edges hammering metal
parts
sweat in the lines of her neck
hair pulled back
eyes watering
pushing more pricks
her finger bends
at the waist
lover, mother, muscle she keeps
sewing, bending, biting
and she need not lie to herself
because pain is the easy, easy,
freedom
