paranoia

It stretches over my eyes
rubber-band like
over my mouth, my ears

and then I only have
reverberation.

Hi, Holly!! I have missed you so much. It's great to be back to read your wonderful work. I'm loving them all, but this one really jumped out at me. My paranoia is a family joke. But as the old black velvet poster says, just because I'm crazy, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get me. Right? Ha! Ha!

I love your work, Holly. The rubber band is perfect.

Jo, thank you.

Julie, SO glad to have you back!!
I went to a reading (Elizabeth Alexander) last night, and got to meet Christine in real life! We had a really nice time! Hopefully you and I will meet soon!

Yes, I would LOVE to meet you in "real" life. We'd have a blast! And Christine, too. I bet y'all had so much fun. I'm jealous!

I can go to see you, and then you can take a trip here. Or meet halfway...or whatever. Any old reason to get together is great.

So good to see you again, sis:)

I missed this one. It reminds me of how fear can hold us back. That tight rubber band we'd like to break. Good one, Holly.

We should go meet Julie! What about the Leaf festival in NC this spring?
