come inside

because today is a place
not a time, and

laughing is how we live

there are coils of arms
waiting for us to climb
inside

but too often we
live in skin, muscle, fat
a place of pulling

pain and pushing
we're not landing
on our feet

because we rely only on them

Holly, this poem is a nice write.
This world we live in is a hard
world to live in and some days it is hard to get on our feet we live too much inside our soul never letting the sun out..

I love the image of the coiled arms, Holly.

Like Jo, I'm fascinated with the idea of coiled arms. Inviting yet a bit frightening that coiling. Perhaps that's why we climb back into our skin.
